Woolworth II-D: Who’s Your Buddy?
For those who are paying attention, and I’m obviously not one of them, I left the Germany army Berlin off the map last turn.
They’ve been rounded up from the brothels and are back in the ranks this time. The Austrian army should be in Bud, not Vie as well.
The centers continue to concentrate, however we still have no eliminations. The Spanish armada has a lot more success this time around, but meanwhile the Pope nibbles as Spain’s southern border. Germany and France continue their waltz and Russia takes another bite out of Austria.

GM – Rome: I think he might have preferred a little bit further to the east!
Spain to Italy: Holiness, someone must keep the Turks out of the Med. You are the only one powerful enough. If you open a front with me, it will be disastrous for us both.
Czar - Kaiser: The Oktoberfest was great. I really enjoyed the Paulaner and the Lowenbrau tents. How can I return your hospitality?
Russia - Turkey: Can you break out on your own? If not will you let my fleet pass through the straits to help you? It shall not move through unless you give permission.
Spain to Germany: To answer last turns' question....It appears that Italy is about to make a big mistake. An empty NTH & NWG would make a very comfortable DMZ.
Germany - England: Thought you'd care to try getting back to your island.
Germany - France: Herr von Schlieffen sends his regards.
Spain to France: Why aren't we allied with Russia & Turkey?
Germany - Spain: Forget England if you really want to switch sides. You can have Iceland and any other island you want if we gang up on France and assorted others in the west. Just start the troops...

A few more players have joined the lists, but we are still woefully short of a new game. Only 7 game starts this year that Conrad registered. Come on now, prove that this hobby isn’t dying!!
Snowball fighting
We’ll either make dirigbles do less damage, or harder to hit with to try and make snowballs more viable. Come on now, join in the fun and sharpen your press pencils!

Perestroika Diplomacy: Add an economic twist to the classic game. Centers generate revenue, armies and fleets must be maintained, treasuries can be sacked! Rules are available on request.

Outpost: An economic game where you decide which resources to purchase and try to keep your colony viable. It’s a race to generate the most income, but resources are limited and you have to bid against the other players for them.

Standard Diplomacy: Nothing new, nothing novel. The only twist to this game is that I strongly encourage players without email to join up. The long deadlines make it easier to get those negotiations in. That is not to say that I do not want people with email joining, but please do not do so unless you are prepared to negotiate fully with those people who don’t have email and rely on the Postal Service.

Black Hole Diplomacy: Watch the spaces disappear and the trips to the other side of the board get shorter and shorter. No stalemate lines in this variant. Great for those who like a free for all.

Just the results please: Don’t really know what to call this one as I just came up with it. Perhaps it’s been tried before. The twist for this variant is that each season only the ending unit positions are published, not the orders. You’ll know who went where, but not who helped whom, or want may have been tried unsuccessfully.

Milk and Cookies – End of Game Statements:
BoobSway: Congratulations, Richard. In this game, being everyone's favorite target is NOT the way to victory, no matter HOW many dirigibles one throws. Given all the time I spent in the Kitchen (you NEVER went, did you?) third place is more than respectable.
As for the worry warts wondering why I left myself in position to be hit by you, at that point taking rash chances was my ONLY chance.
