Mapmaking:

  • MapMaker (version 1.0)
    Want a tool for creating new variant maps? Try MapMaker for Windows (see the Mapmaker home page for more information).

Online Mapping Tools:

  • Automated Online Mapper (requires only a web browser)
    An extremely useful web site that lets you register Judge games and monitors those games, automatically updating the latest moves and current map whenever orders process. After registering your judge games with the Observer, you can customize your own page to keep track of deadlines and maps for all your judge games by registering and logging in here.

  • Net'Mapper (version 3.01) (requires only a Java-enabled web browser)
    An applet that generates a map from judge output for the standard map or Modern or Youngstown variants.

  • Interactive maps
    Two different graphical maps with placeable/movable units are available here and here (both require a Java-enabled web browser). An ASCII interactive map is available here (requires only a JavaScript-enabled web browser).

Game Management Tools:

  • DipTool (version 0.9b)
    DipTool is a Java-based game management tool that parses output from Diplomacy judges, and creates maps for them. It allows the user to create a hierarchical directory for different games, maintaining a map history for each turn in the various games.

  • Editable maps
    Editable Diplomacy maps in a variety of formats on the Pouch's maps page.

  • Cyberboard Gameboxes for Diplomacy and Colonial Diplomacy
    Diplomacy- and Colonial Diplomacy-specific "gameboxes" created for Cyberboard, a utility created expressly to support playing board games by email. Generif information about Cyberboard can be found at the Cyberboard home page.

  • Angie++ (v3.2)
    Windows/95/98/2000 (zipped). See the Angie++ home page for more information and to download additional maps for the program.

  • ASCII Diplomacy Mapper
    Multi-platform (PERL-based). See the README for more information.

  • Automated Online Mapper (requires only a web browser)

  • Bitmap Diplomacy Mapper (1.2b, beta version)
    Windows 95 and NT (zipped). See the brief description, accompanying readme, and additional information and usage tips for more information. An alternate set of map and unit bitmaps is also available for an improved appearance. 

  • DipChief (version 1.3.3)
    Windows 95/Windows NT (zipped). See the DipChief program notes for more information. DipChief maps for a bunch of variants are available from Rob Addison, and from Samy. (These are not mirrors of the same page but are different web sites maintained by different people.)

  • Diplo (version 2.8)
    Windows 95/98/NT (zipped). See the Diplo home page for more information or to download. You will need several DLLs if you don't already have them. Judge players may also be interested in J2Diplo, a program which parses Judge results and generates Diplo 2.8 files.

  • Diplomacy (version 1.51rt, beta version)
    Macintosh (MacBinary Stuffit archive (".sit.bin" suffix)). Additional information and instructions can be found at the home page for this program. For non-German speakers, AltaVista's web-based translation service can be used to automatically generate a rough but readable translation. For an English translation, click here.

  • Diplomacy Game Manager (version 3.54)
    Windows (zipped). Requires VBRUN300.DLL. A few additional details can be found here.

  • Diplomacy Judge Reader (version 2.0)
    Macintosh or Windows (stuffed). Requires Filemaker 3.0 or later. 

  • Diplomatic Advisor (version 2.1)
    Multi-platform (Java-based). See the Diplomatic Advisor home page for more information.

  • DipPlanner (version 1.05)
    Windows 95/NT (zipped). Requires Visual Basic 6 runtime. See the DipPlanner homepage for an online guide or to download Visual Basic 6 runtime.

  • DipTool (version 0.9b)

  • jDip (version 1.00)
    jDIP is a Diplomacy adjudicator and mapping program that runs on most hardware platforms and supports the 2000 rulebook. The software uses a detailed map (not the simplified, rectilinear map of older versions), and accepts orders through a point-and-click interface or by typing in commands.

  • Mapit
    Macintosh (BinHexed and stuffed), Windows (zipped), DOS (zipped), Unix (tared and unix compressed), NeXT (tared and unix compressed).   • Mapper (version 1.2)
    Windows (zipped). See the Mapper home page for additional files that support several variants beyond the 20+ variants that come with the zip file above. There are also many additional variant maps available at the USTR variants page.

  • PalmPolitik (version 1.2.1 for PalmOS)
    Portable Diplomacy -- Features mapping, order entry, adjudication, a timer, and PDA-specific functionality including IR beaming of orders to other handhelds, and synching with PC-based Realpolitik.

  • Realpolitik (version 1.6.5.1 for Mac or Windows)
    Macintosh and Windows 95/98/NT versions are available. See the Realpolitik home page for more information and for links to download. Several additional variants are included with the latest software distribution
